I’m Leavin’ on a Jet Plane….

Ha! If you follow this blog,  I’ll bet you thought I already left on jet plane!

You know, sometimes authors have to really work at the social part of their job. I do.

I do everything I’m supposed to. Mostly.

I keep the web calendar up-to-date (I’m good through July, at least!)

I try to post relevant, interesting things on Facebook – but not more than once or twice a day. Who wants Michelle Houts on their newsfeed every three and a half minutes?

I have even learned – no, that’s going too far – dabbled in Twitter, where I try to retweet brilliant things other people say.

But, this blog? My poor neglected white space. It rarely sees my face.

There’s good news, though.

First of all, I have just posted a very fun blog post over at The Mixed-Up Files of Middle-Grade Authors. I had tons of help from authors whose names you’ll know and whose books you love, especially if you love middle-grade!

So, pop on over to read On the Eve of Escape at the Mixed-Up Files of Middle-Grade Authors page.

And, second… July is coming, which means the Mazza Summer Conference is coming!  Click to see the wonderful details! It’s an incredible week in Findlay, Ohio with some of the nation’s top illustrators and a few authors as well. And, as always, I’ll be there with my laptop, blogging from the back row!

So, see. I haven’t abandoned my own little corner of the blogosphere completely.

But I am leaving. On a jet plane. To find out where I’m going, see that post I just mentioned. On the Eve of Escape. See you there!
